COMPREHENSIVE SEX ED NOT WORKING -2017 Science Based Report

An extensive report, just released, details the results of an analysis of sex education programs being used in U.S. Schools. The conclusion is that there is “far more evidence of failure than success” and even shows a negative impact on students who have been through comprehensive sex education programs. Abstinence education shows no negative impact.
 .
These well researched findings contradict the “effectiveness” claims made by organizations that promote and provide comprehensive sex ed programs.
 .
The research report linked below makes it clear that Schools should NOT be using the comprehensive methods of teaching about sex such as those that include introduction to: mutual masturbation, oral sex and anal sex which have recently been used in schools in N.E. Oklahoma and in Missouri.  The highly controversial programs in Oklahoma and Missouri are surprisingly being provided by misguided local Christian Crisis Pregnancy Centers, which have been trusted sources for providing Abstinence Only sex education programs in years past.
.
What changed?  During the years 2008 – 2016, under President Obama’s administration,  guidelines have been applied through the Federal Department of Health and Human Services, CDC- Center for Disease Control, State Departments of Health and County Health Departments to change their programs to Comprehensive Sex Education.
.
According to Health and Human Services officials, “statistics now show that 73% of the programs under the Teen Pregnancy Prevention, starting under the Obama Administration, have been found to either have a negative impact or none whatsoever.” President Trump is now taking action to make sure the federal money flowing to sex education is spent on scientifically based information.
 .
In addition to the government guidelines mentioned, non-government sources also support the failing comprehensive sex ed. Two well-funded and influential organizations are UNESCO – United Nations Education Scientific and Cultural Organization and SIECUS – Sexuality Information and Education Council of the United States (founded by the director of Planned Parenthood in 1964).
.
It is vitally important for the future of your child to look carefully at the Sex Ed program in your school and be sure you have full disclosure about what and how your child will be taught.  Parents rights must include the opportunity to sign for an “Opt In” to Sex Education or at least to “Opt Out” of it.  The full disclosure of materials and methods along with a signed Opt In (or Opt Out) for parents should be part of written school policy.
.
In some states, additional controversial material is included in Sex Ed along with the 4-types of sex: 1. Mutual Masturbation  2. Oral Sex  3. Vaginal Sex  4. Anal Sex found in Oklahoma and Missouri.  Lessons can contain information about use of condoms, abortion services, LGBT – lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender issues and even some sex education starting as young as kindergarten.
.
Parents and teachers need to know what is happening in this area of education and take a pro-active position.  A school policy protecting parents’ rights to decide for their child is in direct opposition to the goals of Planned Parenthood, the U.N and other allies who are working to establish “sexual awareness and freedom for all children under the banner of Children’s Rights at the United Nations.
