Linda Murphy is an educator who has been certified by the State Department of Education for 30 years. She is a magna cum laude graduate of Southwestern Oklahoma State University. She has taught children and adults in all subject areas. Linda received a statewide award for her work with children and adults with visually related learning problems from the State Optometric Association and Liberty Optical.

Linda served as Education Advisor to the Governor of Oklahoma and as Deputy Commissioner of Labor for Workforce Education and Training. She works with students of all ages and abilities. She has unique experience and knowledge in the area of research based identification and remediation of learning difficulties including visual perception problems and developmental delays. She is certified in testing and training the cognitive skills needed in basic to advanced levels of perception and thinking, using the research based SOI – Structure of Intellect program.

Linda Murphy led the repeal of Outcomes Based Education from state law in 1995 and later the veto of School-to-Work, while she served as the Governor’s Education Advisor. In 2014 she helped lead the repeal of Common Core State Standards from law in Oklahoma. Linda is a strong proponent of a full and well-rounded academic education for students using proven methods.

Murphy was appointed by Governor Frank Keating to the State Job Training Coordinating Council, the Heartland Scholarship Fund Committee, the National Science Foundation Committee- EPSCOR, the Commission on the Status of Women and by Commissioner of Labor Brenda Reneau to the positions of Deputy Commissioner of Labor for Workforce Education and Training, the School-to-Work Council and Administrator of the Eastern Division of the Department of Labor.

Linda Murphy has spoken across the state and nation to hundreds of groups of parents and teachers about education, child development, visual learning, education policy and politics.  Linda promotes policies that will improve education and stop the negative effects from the plans of “social engineers” imposing “top down” mandates creating more big government and global corporate control. She believes in building a strong academic foundation for all students to the best of their individual ability because a good education is a key to opportunity throughout life. Linda Murphy is an advocate for local control of education, parental rights and common sense policies which are essential to preserve our freedom.
